In a recent update from COINOTAG dated May 8th, the Linea team announced a significant development for crypto traders. Users transferring assets from Ethereum to Linea via cross-chain transactions will enjoy an exemption from Gas fees . This initiative aims to enhance user experience on the platform, yet it comes with certain limitations. It applies exclusively to transactions categorized as L1 to L2 and is restricted to those with Gas fees below 250,000. Importantly, transactions involving USDC will still incur Gas fees, underscoring the nuanced nature of cross-chain operations. Additionally, users should remain aware that L1 transactions are not included in this exemption, thereby keeping potential costs in mind when planning transfers.
