HashKey partners with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's Digital Finance Lab to release the Top 10 Trends in the Digital Asset Industry for 2026

Industry participants are highly focused on the following top ten trends in 2026:

2. Asset Tokenization will accelerate comprehensively, and the on-chain securitization will become a significant milestone for the industry;

4. Licensing of stablecoins in Hong Kong, normalization of asset tokenization issuance, and secondary circulation are expected to materialize;
5. The dual-track competition between offshore and onshore trading platforms will intensify further, with compliance and transparency becoming competitive thresholds;
6. Global liquidity will rebound, digital assets will thrive, and fund attention will focus on core high-quality assets such as BTC/ETH;
7. Staking will enter the "Institutional Era," with DAT and ETF becoming mainstream, and Liquidity Staking Derivatives (LSD) facing regulatory pressure;
8. Industry Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activity will accelerate significantly, with infrastructure and compliant assets becoming acquisition focuses;
9. Public chain high-performance scaling and compliant privacy will trend mainstream, with next-generation privacy solutions like ZK, FHE becoming institutional-grade infrastructure staples;
10. Global regulations will further engage in a race, forming a global competition landscape around stablecoin settlement, tokenized assets, and institutionalized access;
The survey results show that the integration of AI and blockchain, asset tokenization, and stablecoin infrastructure direction have received higher levels of support, reflecting the industry's continued attention to the deep integration of blockchain technology and finance. At the same time, the improvement of the regulatory system and changes in market structure also received support from over seventy percent of the respondents, demonstrating that the industry's focus is gradually shifting towards institutional building, regulatory frameworks, and long-term sustainable development paths.
