Theo dữ liệu theo dõi của nhà phân tích chuỗi khối Yu Jin, chỉ trong vòng một ngày rưỡi, kẻ tấn công KelpDAO đã đổi gần như toàn bộ số 75.700 ethereum-eth-143">ETH (tương đương 175 triệu USD) sang BTC.
Kẻ tấn công chủ yếu sử dụng giao thức THORChain để thực hiện các giao dịch xuyên chuỗi, đóng góp 800 triệu USD vào khối lượng giao dịch và 910.000 USD vào doanh thu phí nền tảng cho THORChain.
