Theo tin tức thị trường, trang web dành cho người lớn Pornhub đã ngừng sử dụng Tether (USDT) để thanh toán doanh thu cho người sáng tạo nội dung và chuyển sang sử dụng USDC do Circle phát hành.
Trong một email gửi đến các nhà sáng tạo nội dung, Pornhub tuyên bố rằng việc chuyển đổi này nhằm mục đích làm cho việc thanh toán doanh thu "đáng tin cậy hơn" và nhấn mạnh rằng USDC là một stablecoin được dự trữ đầy đủ, tuân thủ khuôn khổ pháp lý MiCA của EU. Trước đó, Pornhub đã giới thiệu USDT vào năm 2020 sau khi PayPal tuyên bố chấm dứt hợp tác với nền tảng này, và họ đã xây dựng cơ sở hạ tầng thanh toán của mình với sự hỗ trợ của ví TronLink thuộc sở hữu của Sun Yuchen.
