Tin tức BlockBeats, ngày 15 tháng 7, theo Cointelegraph, Simon Gerovich, CEO của công ty dự trữ Bitcoin Nhật Bản Metaplanet, dự định tham gia mua lại cổ phần kiểm soát tại công ty dịch vụ phần mềm niêm yết tại Hàn Quốc SGA. Nếu thỏa thuận cuối cùng được thực hiện, SGA sẽ triển khai chiến lược tài sản kỹ thuật số rộng hơn bằng cách mua lại Bitcoin. Mặc dù Simon Gerovich tham gia với tư cách là nhà đầu tư độc lập chứ không phải đại diện cho Metaplanet, động thái này phù hợp với chiến lược dự trữ Bitcoin đang phát triển của Metaplanet.
