Según The Block, el nuevo gobernador del Banco de Corea, Shin Hyun-song, pronunció un discurso inaugural prometiendo promover el desarrollo de la moneda digital del banco central (CBDC) y los tokens de depósito, y expandirá las aplicaciones relacionadas a través de la Fase Dos del "Proyecto Río Han", mientras participa en colaboraciones globales como el Proyecto Agora para fortalecer la posición del won coreano en el sistema de pagos global.
Es notable que Shin Hyun-song no mencionó la stablecoin del won coreano en su discurso, a pesar de que los legisladores surcoreanos están avanzando activamente en la "Ley Básica de Activos Digitales" para establecer un marco legal para las stablecoins, con discusiones que se espera reanudar después de las elecciones regionales del 3 de junio.
